Just got back from the HWY 36 bridge fishing the lights. I have graveyards tonight and the girlfriend was out of town so I figured I might as well do something other than watch movies all night. Got there around midnight and was surprised to see two other sets of lights all ready there on a Wednesday night. Fished with three guys from Houston most of the night. Pretty consistent action, mostly sand trout though. I used Swimmin Images, Mirrodines, Catch Jr's, etc., and was able to avoid most of the sandies. Ended up with 7 keepers (15 1/2"-18"). Guys from houston were using tails and hooking up with sand trout every cast. I'll take the fewer bites/better quality fish on tops, over a 8" sand trout every cast any day of the week.

Also included a couple of pics of this past weekend with my nephew. He had a blast catching piggies, mangrove snapper, sand trout, drum, etc. He also had his first stingray catch. Luckily for us somebody had already cut the tail off.

And also one picture of a red that just barely missed the slot and could've placed in the Fishin Fiesta. It measured a little over 28 1/4" and my knockoff boga showed to be reading around 11 pounds. Probably the fattest red I have ever caught. To me the spot on his body sorta resembles Texas. Anyone else think so?

That is a TEXAS red for sure. Under the Hwy 36 bridge can be very productive. I catch alot of flounder there, usually early morning before the heat of the day casting just down the river bank up on the shallows there. Congrats on your catches. Thanks for sharing. :merry:
