Okay,
Here goes.... (still haven't recovered!) Left Laguna Shores around 5:30 pm in a STRONG south wind. Jack and Paul went in our boat, I road with Gail in her boat, 22 ft Stoner along with Clay, Gary and Tina. Buddy went in his boat. Arrived at the cabin around 7pm drenched. Paul and Jack arrived 45 minutes later with 4 keeper trout. They stopped and worked the birds. Set up camp and by the time we had beds made and food put away it was dark and fishing time.
It is so much fun to catch trout under the lights in the cut. After much fishing, Clay was cranky and needed to sleep. After putting him down, I was free and the alcohol flowed. It was getting real stupid and we had races to see who could catch 3 trout the fastest. I won first, followed by Jack and then I don't remember who won. Then we wanted to find out how many trout you could catch in 5 minutes. Well, that figure was 5! First night, I stopped myself at 3am. Had to catch a shower and some Zzzzzz's before Clay woke!
Next morning, I woke because of Clay at 7am to find the house empty besides my kids and me. They musta planned that while I was still out fishing the night before. They came back around 10:30 with some of the prudiest trout I have seen, 19-23's. After breakfast, Clay went down for a nap and so did I. Buddy, Gail and Tina fished the hole and came back around 3 with 4 nice reds. Later the Howard went in search of reds but came up empty handed.
Dinner time and the chefs were hard at work preparing a gormet meal. Complements to our chefs! Pork tenders bacon wrapped, drenched in pineapple sake terryaki marinade. Served with grilled tri colored peppers, steamed broccoli and pasta (mac and cheese) lol, the pasta sounded better!
After dinner we went back to the fishing and drinkin! Paul and Jack had other plans.
Out came the lanterns and gigs and they took off in the boat. Jack now has a new love, flounder giggin! He says its just like hunting! The mighty hunters came back with 3 flounder!!!! Thats the most we've had in 15 yrs!
Anyway, stayed awake and was the last one to quit around 3 am. Next morning, same thing, no one home except me and the boys! WTF??? Started cleaning cabin and the fisher peeps arrived back home with more nice fish.
This trip was better than last, better variety, better fish and flat fish!
