Met up with my two sons and their girlfriends at Mallard Lake today in WC! Amy, Josh's girlfriend lives right on the lake so it was just a perfect morning! The water was gin clear so we were sight casting to the fish. Caught my first Bass on a Bass Assassin rootbeer curly tail!!

My two sons Josh and Jon tore em up with some salamanders! We practiced alot of catch and release... it was just a great time!

The coolest part is hearing Josh give ole Mom credit for his love of fishing!! :eek2: Here all this time I thought only Jon had picked that up from me... but Josh was telling his girlfriend, "Mom taught me how to bass fish"... Now I can't take credit for THAT... this was my first time to ever try bass fishing... but I got him some baits and a bass fishing kit and told him what I've read on the boards and seen on TV... and since him and Amy live down there, I guess he felt he'd give it a try! I'm so proud of him though!!

I've attached a few pics of our morning!

1. My FIRST BASS!!
2. Amy's fish - Bailee wanted her pic with it!
3. Bailee trying for her own fish!
4. Still my first bass!

Good looking pictures. It's that time of year for the big sow bass to start moving in for the spawn. Keep throwing the worms, lizards and spinners with willow leaf blade in two to four feet of water for your wall hanger.
