Lavaca River

Hit the river first thing this morning. After two buddies hit it yesterday for a limit of reds and six trout to 23", hopes were high. Well, they didn't disappoint today either. Three of us caught our limits of reds today with three trout thrown in for good measure. Only disappointing thing was they caught many of their fish on tops yesterday. Couldn't buy a tw bite today. All reds looked like footballs. One of them they caught yesterday had eleven finger mullet in it's stomach. Today we had one with ten finger mullet and two crabs. Wind was crankin' out of the south at 20 to 25 mph. All fish caught on Gulps and gold spoons.

MCT, that would be the river that empties into Lavaca Bay which opens up into West Matagorda.

Never fished Lavaca Bay or the river emptying into it but you sure make me WANT to. Congrats on yet another nice trip Billy.
