Put in at Lutes early a.m. , fished areas in the bay that usually produce fish. We threw almost every color we had and nothing. Headed over to Bastrop...found water with bait everywhere, same thing, nothing. Headed to Christmas, nothing. Headed back to Chocolate around 11:30 & found a shrimp boat, he wasn't having much luck shrimping but did have a quart of live to sell. Fished the spoils in upper Chocalate w/live shrimp and ended up with five keeper trout to 21'' and one keeper red 21''. I normally throw artificial only and have good results, lately the fish won't seem to cooperate on artificals.

Yah I am of an opinion that it is the live schwimps time of year. Not that arties wont work it is just that the fish are hard to find right now. Once the bait fish move in Then you will just be feeding little pecker fish with the schwimps & it is then time for your arties or finger mullets. Way to grind it out & find the fish!

Great job on grinding it out......

Are you going to try to make it to Lutes fishing tourny the first weekend on June?

If all goes as planned I will make it to the tournament. My daughter made the all-star team in softball. If her schedule is open that weekend I will be there.
