Can anyone point me to a good web site showing an aerial view of the area around MOB; i.e., distance from Bryan Beach to the South, maybe something with approximate water depths. I want to camp along the beachfront there and put out long rods. I hear an awful lot of 'be carefuls' regarding the place, and I understand that. What I'd like to know is from what part of the beachfront can I most easily reach some water depth without stepping off into the deep blue just beyond the 2nd sandbar. At Bryan and along Surfside Beach I wade / swim to the 3rd sandbar, wade to chest deep water and then cast. I get the feeling that's not 'good mojo' for the area near the MOB. Please advise.
Thanks.

I imagine the topography changes daily in that area but here's what I've got for you: http://www.texmaps.com/aerials/05brazosport-area/index.html

This is off Google Earth. It's a lot newer image. The Island is not there any more but i heard it's trying to re-form

Thanks, bro. I'll try the Google Earth-thing and see if I can drill down...
One last question, is it easier / quicker to drive the 3-4 miles along the beach, or is there a backdoor QUICKER entry to MOB beachfront?

There's a backdoor road but it is full of potholes, I prefer the beach drive....... better scenery.

Your name defers to your thinkin' - I like it. That AND the beachfront scenery... It don't do potholes; I'll definitiely take the scenic route. Thanks.
