Because I have not found any Czech spoons on the market
I've had to look else where for my supply for the summer.
Found some at Academy on sale, 2 for $3. Not a bad deal.
I picked up 10.
5, 3/4 ounce (2 silver & 3 gold)
5, 1/8 ounce (2 silver & 3 gold)
Now I'm ready for Wolf Island.

Yea NK, their will be some macs out there this summer but I try
not to spoon feed them. Don't see too many in the skinny water.
I think they prefer the 2nd bar.

I make black spoons, and they work great. I take my old ones or if I can find them super cheap buy them, then buff them with sand paper and apply black paint, let dry and put on a coat of clear coat. I also add a white teaser, or another color (red is very good) and that helps.

I have done this also using black, white, yellow, silver and gold spray paints. Call me cheap, but doing this will make those spoons go even farther for your buck. I'd bet I have spoons that are over 10 years old. With a little masking tape and creativeness, you can refurbish your top waters and suspending baits the same way, it just takes a little longer.I make black spoons, and they work great. The lengthen the life of your new spoons, I coat them with a clear nail polish. Old school trick. The wife found me a clear nail polish that had some holographic spec's in it. the spec's give more flash in the sunlight. I usually apply 2-3 thin coats per spoon. Works well...

This might be something I need to try.
The last few gold Johnson Sprite spoons I have been using
have lost their color and started to turn silver by the time I get
home. I bought them on sale at Academy. On the older ones their hook
used to wear out before the gold faded on them.

I got some big spoons from the 30's, I polish them out real good, apply a clear coat and use them. Not often, but I can get some serious distance with them, they are heavy and work great, just can not replace if ever lost.
Does anyone know where to find Gator Spoons? I found one and have been using it with success, but can't find them any place to buy them. They are more streamline, but heavier than most spoons.
You can cast the Gator's a country mile!

That spoon is made by Gibbs/Nortac, and their website and product sources are at http://www.gibbsfishing.com/

I throw alot of spoons and started to see that the cheaper ones that are 1.50 corrode after a couple of uses. I found that the Tony Accetta work the best. They are about twice as expensive but they dont corrode and are alot shinier.
if your lures are from the 30;s,you might wont to check their collectors value. i showed some i got from the early 40's and was offered up to $120 for one because it has glass eyes. the others in bad shape were $30-75.
Thanks FISHoverSLEEP. This is the best spoon that I've ever thrown. I really like the way it works, and it hasn't lost it's luster. I don't know how it ended up in my tackle box, but it is my go to spoon in the surf.
